SUMMER 2000 NEWSLETTER
(Covering the Months of June through August)
Anneliese Erhardt:
 |
So, for 10 weeks (or so) this summer,
we were privileged to have in our office our long-time friend Annie
(we call her Amelia) Erhardt. Annie tried out a completely new venture
for LOST AND FOUND: she investigated whether Christian bookstores
would be interested in carrying cd's by an independent band.
Annie worked tremendously hard and--surprisingly!--was able to get
a few stores to carry our stuff. This was no small task, and her
efforts are greatly appreciated. If you find our cd's for sale in
your local bookstore, you have Annie to thank (or to blame, depending
upon how much you dislike our music).
As regular readers know, each new person in the office gets 20 (or
so) questions. So, even though Annie's stint with us is done, I
pass along her answers.
Full name: Anneliese Jayne Erhardt
Born on: January 19, 1981 (another Earth sign)
Born in: Detroit, Michigan Places lived: Battle Creek, Michigan;
Hong Kong (!); Kalamazoo, Michigan. (I think "Hong Kong" must be
in Wisconsin, right?)
Three Hobbies: writing letters; eating Moose Tracks ice cream;
canoeing (One of these things is not like the others . . .)
Siblings: sister Bethany; brothers Martin and Christoph
Three favorite books: "Cry, The Beloved Country," Alan Paton;
"The Bronze Bow," Elizabeth George Speare; "Hamlet," William Shakespeare
(not sure "Hamlet" qualifies as a book, but slack is always cut
in the case of The Bard)
Three Favorite Musical groups: Ladysmith Black Mambazo; Fernando
Ortega; The Iona Community Wild Goose Worship Group (is that your
side project?)
If she could live in any time and place she would choose:
1500's in Italy, or Holy Land during the first century, though she
likes now too
Favorite Color: navy blue (not an Earth sign color . . .
hmmm . . .)
Favorite fast-food restaurant: Taco Bell Order at that place:
two bean burritos and a water
Favorite Starbucks order: (I'm quoting here) "People who
go to Starbucks are wasting their money and should stick with Folger's
decaf Crystals if coffee is a must." (hey, how could we know she
was a heretic?)
College Major: Philosophy
If she could live anywhere in the US, she picks: Chesapeake
Bay; The Boundary waters (that's in Canada, isn't it?); or Oregon.
(The common element is decidedly not Earth)
Favorite Football team: she says "I don't follow football,
but I won a Punt, Pass, and Kick competition when I was 12."
Favorite Soda: "people who drink soda are wasting their money
. . ." just kidding. She says "A&W Cream Soda."
If she could have any automobile currently available, she chooses:
"people who drive cars are wasting their money . . . " kidding again.
Her actual words are "VW van, the kind that looks like it's going
to tip over because of its high center of gravity."
The most pressing problem in the world today is: "The competition
and individualism that leads to alienation and distrust in relationships
and communities." (Wow. 'Nuff said, as they say.)
How does it feel when you look at the moon?: "floaty and
jumpy and soaring and serene." (I put that in all small letters
because it reminded me of an e.e. cummings poem)
Thanks to Annie for all her hard work. She rocks on, and we hope
you all get to meet her someday. Just don't offer to take her to
Starbucks in your Range Rover.
